Coronado Rotary Plaza

Project Information : Coronado, CA
Client : Parterre, City of Coronado

The City of Coronado’s Rotary Park expansion project is a centrally located triangular spot along the city’s main avenue. The new design creates “a gathering spot” for residents and visitors alike. T.B. Penick’s scope of work includes various aggregate, recycled glass and shell Lithocrete® finishes and acid etch paving surfaces, seat walls, and a community fountain. This project took nine weeks with an average of 6 men in a crew. The fountain was poured seamless and features pneumatically applied mother of pearl and silica carbide. The flatwork around the fountain utilizes Mexican pebbles, tumbled beach glass, various recycled blue and clear glass pieces and abalone shells. The crosswalks utilize the Lithocrete presto finish. Size 3 beige granite was seeded on the surface to create an extremely durable surface for cars and pedestrians.
